Hmm, potential career as wig-stylist for museums, or to continue pursuing my MLIS?
Never fear, I'm still planning to become a librarian. However, I will probably take home most of the wigs from the Historical Society next week in order to clean and brush them out. One of the wigs (not pictured) was this awful matted mess.
I brushed it out. While it's not shining, it looks pretty damn good. Plus, the mats are gone.
Anyway, the Historical Society is having house tours this Sunday, and I was told I could show up in costume. First I thought of getting into my Civil War dress. One problem - the sleeves are three inches too short. Then, hmm, I have an 1860s style ball-gown.
It's going to be COLD, and I do not have time to sew up a chemise (currently entering Finals time). Additionally, the mannequins are wearing clothes that date between 1900 and 1920. I think I will wear what I did for Halloween --- slightly inaccurate, slightly anachronistic, but hey, I'll get to wear a feathered headband and vertically striped stockings!
