Vote for books!

Did you vote today?

If you didn't, and live on the East Coast, there are two more hours before the polls close.

Friday was Halloween, and Friday meant student teaching. My upper elementary students have been learning about elections for the past week, so I put on my red 1860s dress, and decided to be Susan B. Anthony. Most of my little ones knew exactly who I was (once I told them. The response was "Oooo! We just learned about her!").

Halloween

Photo taken by Becca White
So, for Halloween I dressed up as an Edward Gorey-esque Czarina (long story). While the picture does not show how I was dressed *below* the waist (think black dress ending knee-length, with gauzy billow black skirt peeking out to my ankles and vertically striped stockings), it does show off the feathered headband. When I found the deliciously feathered headband at the New York State Renaissance Faire, I knew that it would form the rest of my Halloween costume.
