Kitty hats galore!
There's a first time for everything. Jon's hat was my first time reading a pattern, using circulars, and wrestling with double point needles.
It would have been a fabolous hat. Except Jon doesn't have a conical head. I believe he uses it as a paperweight, in fact. Fortunately, my hat skills have improved somewhat. Like, being able to read a pattern. And my slight obsession with pointy sticks that are pointy on both ends. Just last semester, my friend Kristy said that if she needed to walk around campus late at night, she grabbed her biggest needles.
So ... two side by side comparisons of two adult size kitty hats (pattern from Stitch & Bitch) that I've knitted in the past year. The black one, or The Atrocity That Almost Made Me Blind, was for my suitemate, Becca. She loves it. I don't think her boyfriend does. The other hat, made this summer, was for my awesome cousin Racquel. And she sent me a picture of her modelling it.
My neice also has a kitty hat, but somewhat child-sized, and I really hope she'll be able to wear it without it popping off her head. I also just started making a kitty hat for my cousin's son, though I'm using the Kim's Hats pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts as my base, and once that's finished, the ears shall be added.
