Sunday night rambling

I've been busy lately, and I spent the five day weekend reading up for my Young Adult Sources and Services class. I've read two YA classics for the first time, and as a result, got to relive all those teenage dramas. The Chocolate War covered mob-mentality, and Forever ... first love and losing virginity. I admit, I peeked and read the last chapter of Forever, and spent the rest of the novel slightly biased against one of the characters.

Anyway, last night I volunteered at a Wine Tasting, got to try some very lovely North Fork chardonnays (I want to buy a bottle of the Bridge Lane Chardonnay), and met some wonderful people. Alas, I only know their first names, but if they find this, hello!

During all this reading and wine-pouring, the temperature has been dropping quite rapidly, and the evenings are now somewhat in the low-forties. Gah. The upside is that my baking ban has been lifted, and I can bake once again. Tonight will be chocolate chip cookies for Ohio, and they will be sent to that friend either tomorrow or Tuesday.

The downside of cold weather? I don't know where my slippers are, and the kitchen floor gets pretty cold.
