So, is it just me, or does anyone else look at the Knitty pattern "Jamesey" because the model (the knitter's son) is so damn cute?
The pattern, for a men's gansey, is gorgeous. There's ribbing, there's stuff that looks like arrows (I don't know the technical term), it's almost tunic-length ... if my best friend or any of my male friends went up to me and said, "Oh, please please please knit me Jamesey" I would, in the drop of a hat.
It's pretty.
That said, I also love looking at the pictures of the model's son. He's handsome! As my roommate is saying, he was born to model sweaters (she's also a knitter).
Anyway, since knitting blogs deserve pictures ... here's a picture of my father wearing one of the dozen (I think a dozen, maybe eight...) baby hats I knit over my winter break. I used the Umbilical Cord Hat pattern from Stitch and Bitch, and used Cascade Yarns, Cherub Collection Aran. I used size US 7 dpns. The colour is a beautiful baby blue, and I'm knitting girl hats (same yarn, same pattern, same needles) in a gorgeous lavender. Best part for the moms I'm giving these hats to? Machine washable and dryable.
